Name of company was Virgil Fox Plumbing
and Heating.
Company focus was service and repair,
with also work in the new construction and
renovation field.
In 1973, David Brown joined the company
as a journeyman plumber. In 1975,
David Brown was offered an
equity position in the company. By 1979,
David Brown had become half owner
and vice president.
In 1976, the company began expanding
their operations and started a division
called Fox Custom Interiors. That
division focused primarily on residential remodeling,
including bathroom, kitchen,
and all phases of interior remodeling. Due to
changes in the industry, and economics,
the remodeling division was closed
in 1997.
In 1983, David Brown purchased the remaining
shares of the company, and changed
the name to Fox
Plumbing and Heating, and the corporation was
changed to
David N. Brown, Inc.
The focus on Plumbing has always remained
service and repair. However during
the 80's, the company
did a large percentage of new construction,
including
new homes and apartment complexes.
By 1989, all new construction projects
had been completed, and the company
focused primarily on service repair
and remodeling, and has continued
to do so to this day.
David Brown was the charter president
of the Washington State chapter of Plumbing,
Heating and Cooling
Contractors Association. His presidency ran
from 1982-1984.
This is a national association
dedicated to the improvement and development
of
plumbing and heating contractors
through development of higher standards within
our industry.
